PorchLight Diversity Statement

At PorchLight, we believe that diversity is the cornerstone of our strength and the foundation of our mission. Located in the heart of Bellevue, Washington, we serve a community rich in culture, background, and experience.

Since our founding in 1993, we have been dedicated to providing compassionate support to homeless men, recognizing that each individual’s journey is unique and deserving of respect.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all voices are heard, valued, and empowered. We strive to break down barriers and ensure that our services are accessible to everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or socioeconomic status.

Our team is as diverse as the community we serve, and we believe that this diversity enhances our ability to respond to the complex needs of those experiencing homelessness. We actively seek to include a broad range of perspectives in our decision-making processes and continuously work to create a culture of equity and inclusion within our organization.

At PorchLight, we are more than just a service provider; we are a community that stands together in support of dignity, hope, and opportunity for all.

Founded in 1993, PorchLight is a nonprofit organization helping unhoused men in East King County regain stability through safe shelter and comprehensive support that addresses health, housing, and self-sufficiency.

PorchLight recognizes that the ground we stand on is the traditional territory of the Coast Salish peoples. We honor their past and present connection to this land and are grateful for their stewardship, which continues to inspire our work creating spaces of safety, belonging, and renewal.
