Message Against Systemic Racism

We are committed to doing more to make PorchLight and our community a more equitable, and safe place for staff members, and the men we serve. To that end, we will strive to listen with an open heart and seek to understand. We will use our voices to deepen our community’s understanding of how systemic racism is at the heart of homelessness in our country. And we will use our influence and privilege to change systems and policies that further systemic racism. We pledge to stand up and speak up for those who are negatively impacted by systems of inequity and oppression in our community.

PorchLight, formerly CFH, acknowledges that we are on the traditional land of the Coast Salish people and wish to pay respect to Coast Salish people past and present. We honor their connection to the region and are grateful for their stewardship of this land on which we are now building a place of health, hope, and healing.

Founded in 1993, PorchLight is a nonprofit organization helping unhoused men in East King County regain stability through safe shelter and comprehensive support that addresses health, housing, and self-sufficiency.

PorchLight recognizes that the ground we stand on is the traditional territory of the Coast Salish peoples. We honor their past and present connection to this land and are grateful for their stewardship, which continues to inspire our work creating spaces of safety, belonging, and renewal.
