Behavioral Health Support without judgment. Care without delay.

Homelessness rarely stands alone. It’s often intertwined with untreated trauma, isolation, and behavioral health needs that go unmet for years.

At PorchLight, behavioral health and substance use services don’t come with a waiting list or a long bus ride. They’re built into our programs; available same day, on-site, and grounded in trust.

Our licensed team walks alongside men in shelter and housing, offering personalized, trauma-informed support for whatever they’re facing. Whether someone is navigating addiction, managing a mental health condition, or just trying to stay grounded, help is here without barriers.

A Model That Centers the Person

We don’t force a timeline. We don’t define success for anyone.

Our model is rooted in harm reduction, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care. Every man we serve gets the chance to set his own goals and define his next steps. We’re here to walk with him, not ahead of him.

What Healing Looks Like Here

  • Mental health and substance use assessments
  • Crisis response and safety planning
  • One-on-one counseling and peer support
  • Medication management and prescription access
  • Wound care and basic health screenings
  • Referrals to inpatient, outpatient, and recovery programs
  • Integrated support with housing, employment, and life skills

All services are delivered by our in-house team — no outsourcing, no runaround. Our team includes a clinical social worker, substance use professional, registered nurse, and a prescribing nurse practitioner.

Our team works in close coordination with local hospitals, mobile crisis units, and city response teams to ensure no one falls through the cracks.

Founded in 1993, PorchLight is a nonprofit organization helping unhoused men in East King County regain stability through safe shelter and comprehensive support that addresses health, housing, and self-sufficiency.

PorchLight recognizes that the ground we stand on is the traditional territory of the Coast Salish peoples. We honor their past and present connection to this land and are grateful for their stewardship, which continues to inspire our work creating spaces of safety, belonging, and renewal.
