A Jump Start
During the last year, the case management staff helped over 120 of our clients to receive the federal Economic Impact Payments.
Several of the men managed to save most of the payments to put towards housing, including Allen and Robert.
Allen works full time at a grocery store in Renton as a bag clerk. Robert works full time at a convenience store in Factoria. They met at CFH and over time developed a strong friendship.
On their own, they found a two-bedroom apartment they could afford in Kent, and with their saved EIP, were able to pay the deposit and first and last month’s rent along with utility deposits and move in two months ago.
According to Allen, things are going well, and they are enjoying this step in rebuilding their lives.
